RE: too much vacuum
You can't have too much vacuum.A vacuum leak doesn't necessarily mean it will idle poorly. It all depends on how severe the leak is. I have seen vehicles with leaks so bad they ran in open loop but you'd never notice a difference in idle quality. The whistle may be due to a ring of carbon around the throttle bore. This is common on our engines and would slightly restrict air inlet - likely causing a whistle noise as air moves past it. I would suggest the fresh air side of your PCV was blocked - but that should make it whistle at an idle only. Look around, man. There must be something obvious (relative term) causing this noise.

RE: too much vacuum
i have looked around the thing is i had my cai off so the throttle body was open and everytime i gave it gas with my ear right next to the throttle body it would whistle. i dont have egr or any pollution stuff hooked. the only vacuum hooked up is the fpr, pcv on the intake, and from the intake to the vacuum block on the fire wall. i have an accufab and i was told by alot of people that they dont whistle, but it does. im just sick of thenoise. it would be different if it was a supercharger whining.
