sometimes will run and other it just dies
I have a 91 Gt w/ an 8psi blower,30lbs injectors,80mm C&L MAF,255 fuel pump, Adjustable regulator, new plugs and wires, water pump, timing chain, tranny and ACT clutch, shorty headers w/ 40's flowmasters and a mac H pipe. I spent alot of time and money latly on this car.This problemis getting old and no one around me will look at it because its S/C. It always starts with its cold and runs fine sometimes and other times she just dies. Normally it die when coming to a light or at a stop light. Sometimes it starts right back and others it takes 10 or 15mins. I just dont understand it. I do smell fuel at times but I am only running about 36lbs of pressure. Another thing is when just driving not under boost sometimes it will just jerk(just snap your neck alittle) and back fire. I alway thought that was a sign of burning rich? I just dont know what to do and I love my car and dont want to sell. Please help

Is the fuel regulator vacuum or electric? How do you know you're getting 36psi? Do you have a fuel pressure guage in the car or have you verified the injectors are seeing what they should?

i don't know anything about the Crane ignition box, does it use the stock distributor? If so, I would look into replacing the TFI (Thick Film Ignition) Module. If you have aftermarket distributor that doesn't use the TFI I would check the operation of you Crane ignition box when underhood temps are high.

It is a vacuum regalator. I have a in-line fuel guage. The injectors are red 30lb from steeda and I do have a stock distributor. But would a TFI make it act like that?

The TFI will cause sudden shut downs, ignition problems such as back firing. the main one is that you said it can start right back up sometimes and sometimes it takes 10 or 15 min. when the TFI starts to fail, when it's hot it will start acting up or shut down completely. so when you're waiting, all you're waiting for is the TFI to cool back down. do a quick search and I think you'll find you are having very similar issues. I don't think you're fuel pressure or the fact you have a blower is part of your problem.

. it's just not gonna happen. spend the 500 or 600 bucks and get the thing dyno tuned. it will run right and you will be pleased. money deffanitly well spent.

+ 1,000,000!.. it always agrivates me when people put all this time and money in there cars like a SC with all the supporting mods or a H/C/I combo with all the supporting mods and expect the car to run perfict... and if it doesnt they turn around and sell the car. it's just not gonna happen. spend the 500 or 600 bucks and get the thing dyno tuned. it will run right and you will be pleased. money deffanitly well spent.
