Whatever you do dont raise your fuel pressure, or you will be running leaner than before in the long run. Taken from our local board, a post by Dyno Dan, the best EFI tuner in Nevada and possbly west caost...

ur local guy is the bomb u should keep taking ur car there

LEAN = not enough fuel
RICH= too much fuel

Anybody that raises their FP and expects the car to run richer is a fool (unless they have the necessary programming changes). The car will run rich until the adaptive fuel trim cells are updated, and then the trims will be applied to closed loop AND open loop.........at which point your car will run leaner when your foot is on the floor, guaranteed. Everytime I see the magazines say, "you'll need an adjustable regulator to dial in your AFR", I roll my eyes.
i dont understand what this quote means but cars should always have a perfect fuel ration of 14.1 or something like. i dont know why u would want ur car to run lean when ur foot is on the ground when the point is how much fuel/air can be compressed for the powerstroke

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS
A gasoline engine burns gasoline in the presence of oxygen (see How Car Engines Work for complete details). It turns out that there is a particular ratio of air and gasoline that is "perfect," and that ratio is 14.7:1 (different fuels have different perfect ratios -- the ratio depends on the amount of hydrogen and carbon found in a given amount of fuel). If there is less air than this perfect ratio, then there will be fuel left over after combustion. This is called a rich mixture. Rich mixtures are bad because the unburned fuel creates pollution. If there is more air than this perfect ratio, then there is excess oxygen. This is called a lean mixture. A lean mixture tends to produce more nitrogen-oxide pollutants, and, in some cases, it can cause poor performance and even engine damage.
i should go teach that guy in nevada how cars work LOL

yeah i plan on gettinga 255lph fuel pump this friday any recommendations as far as brand? I can get a discount holley 255lph at work for like 120$ sale price is 150 but should i get something else? I've got a holley fpr thats adjustable as well. I was told i should be ok with the 19 lb injectors but i will need a fuel pump. One question though theres a sensor on the firewall thats black i believe this is the map sensor should this have a vaccum line going to it or not?

u can produce 1000 pounds of pressure but ur rail and injectors can only do so much if i where u i would get a air/fuel gaudge installed and put a high flow fuel filter and some upgraded injectors that go good with the stock rail.my point is that u can have 1000 pounds going into the rail and injectors but only 2% of that will actually go into the cylinder

my suggestion
1st air/fuel gadge
2nd high flow fuel filter( find out the actual difference between the stock and the aftermarket one ur buying )
3rd upgrade fuel pressure regulator
4th rail & injectors

not quite sure about the little black box u see but most probably yea its a maf.
