mass air question

Default mass air question

i just found out my car had speed density so i found a mass air harness out of a 90 gt my car is a 89 lx notch i know the harness will work but his car is a auto and mine is a 5spd will the A9P work or do i have to buy a A9L

It will work, the fuel curve is a little better from the 5 speed computer. Why would a n 89 be sd, did someone do a 4 to 8 conversion?

yes it was a 4 to 8 swap and they did the swap so clean but as im learning they skimped on a few things, I removed the motor and built it with 40 over forged pistons , custom grind cam,all internals were balanced , cast crank,rollor rockers, victor jr alum heads,bbk ssi intake, bbk fuel reg,billett timing gears, elec fans, full mallory ign, bbk full length headers x pipe, flow masters ,24 lb inj, 24lb mass air sensor,75mm bbk throttle body ect. So imagine to my dissmay i went to reinstall my engine and found out it didnt have the right computer or harness to run and in maine mustangs dont exist in junk yards . i just got lucky and found a young kid that wrecked his but it had what i needed and for 50 bucks no less so i bought it and prayed the ecc would work so thats my story in a nut shell

Unfortunately the A9P is an auto trans specific ECM andwill not work without a custom chip. Thier are settings that need to be changed to allow it to work correctly. Manual ECM's will work in non-electronic automatic trans applications but automatic tramspecific ECM's wont work in manual applications without a chip.
