im pretty sure my T-5 went to hell
my car started to make a noise that was coming out the bottum of the car ...it sounded like rocks banging around the inside of a tin can....then today the noise went away...now ive notice that my shifter vibrates one hell of alot, and my car makes a humming noise 1,2,4,5 gear only when i put on the gas..its not a continious humm but more of a HUM HUM HUM HUM...but when u put it into third gear and give it some gas is sounds like teath grinden and metal slappin, and it feels like somthing smacking the underneath of the car.....
Sorry if that is hard to comprehendwith the lame descriptions but its not the easiest thing to describe a noise by typing.

If you plan on rebuilding it. Stop driving it now. The more you drive with all the junk floating around, the more parts you will wear and add to your rebuild.
If it's scrap and you are replacing the entire unit. Carry on.

well i was going to have it rebuilt but then i was talking to my guy that does my motor work and he was saying that he could get me a tremec for about 1000bucks so i might just got that route..but i am pretty tight with cash at the moment after just install H/C/I and other boost parts so the cheapest thing would to be going with a rebuild but u never kno how long that is going to last me when id be pushing a little over 400hp..so i guess what im asking is it worth it to rebuild or just try to save for a tremec 5spd

From what you are describing I would guess that you shelled some teeth off 3rd speed gear and or the cluster. Put some G Force or Astro performance gears in there, they will stand up to that much power. I would stop driving it if you are going to fix.

just get the t5 FULLY rebuilt... new gears(the ones that are ****ed, cant tell till its open), syncros, etc... a t5 will handle 400hp, so long as u can drive
