Sigh… Parting with my ‘88...
It pains me to do it, but I’ve decided to get rid of my ’88 5.0 Vert. I wanted to keep it, but I don’t see myself ever having the time and the money to get it back to a reasonable condition. I’ve owned the car since I drove it off the dealer lot, and it has a lot of sentimental value to me. I have a younger family friend who has shown tremendous interest in the car, but I don’t know what to ask for it. I don’t mind giving him a deal, since it’s more important to me that someone have it to fix up and drive it than it is to get more $ just to have it parted out. The kid is a mechanic and an auto body specialist, so I know he knows what he’s getting himself in for. My two questions are: What is a fair price? What are the best ways to sell her if the deal falls through?

Good stuff:
--BBK 65 mm throttle body
--Cobra intake
--1.72 Crane roller rockers
--BBK 1 5/8 equal length shorty headers
--BBK 2 ½ H-pipe (original cat pipe included)
--Pro 5.0 shifter
--Factory 5.0 upper and lower control arms
--BBK welded subframe connectors
--Auburn diff w/ 3.73 gears.
--New headlight and side marker lenses
--Shaved luggage rack, custom grill looks fantastic (IMO)
--Engine runs strong, pulls a GTech 0-60 time 4.8 seconds
Bad Stuff
--Seats and carpet are shot.
--Convertible top is shot, although the frame and hydraulics work
--Power windows have a short, do not operate
--Speedo cable melted
--Windshield wipers removed, have parts
--AC removed, bypassed with kit
--Bad heater core, bypassed

RE: Sigh… Parting with my ‘88...
BTW, I realize this isn't quite the proper forum for such a question, but I've never sold a used car before, I usually just get screwed on the trade-in, or I run them into the junkyard. Not an option at this time.
