Default cam degreeing

So my cam is advanced already 2 degree's. i'll probably bump it to 4. Supposidly that improves low end power and gas mileage. Anyone have this done already? any difference? thanks!

Yep...have done here.....but you need to know if 4° advanced is 4° and not 6-8°........need to degree the cam and make sure the grind+crankshaft+timing gears tolerances do not place the events somewhere else. For example.....I've installed a few E/B-303's that were 4° advanced when you use the 0° keyway.....among other brands that have been 2° advanced....just a thought.

not sure of what you just wrote but it's at 2 degrees advanced now. i would bump it 2 more to make it a total of 4. It's also the stock cam. not an e/b 303 cam so dont know if that makes a difference or not.

he's talking about the different tolerances in the other parts advancing the cam more even though you have the cam sprocket @ 4 degrees advance
