if its an automatic rx8 then yes youll beat him, but if its teh 6 speed you wont. the 6 speed comes with alot more power.

um as far as I'm aware all the rx8's are 6 spd, I could be wrong though?

Rx8's came in Manual and Auto variety. Yes the Manual has more hp but a few fewer tq (like 6)
I've seen 1/4 mile times for stock RX-8's being between 14.5-14.9 don't know if they were auto or manual. I would assume the higher numbers are autos and the lower numbers are manual.

i dunno about that... a drivetrain for an auto does rob a car of more hp... but not that much more... and they would make a completely different engine setup for a 6-sp over their auto... so we are talking mayb 15rwhp... probably less.... i dont think they well be ne faster... unless it have a turbo or "NOS" as the ricers like to call it it wont be remotely fast... if u have seen the engine bay and now they are stock then id beat them money.... call them girls if hte bak out.. cuz i mean they are girls lol

Yea it's my G/f's aunt that wants to race me. They've been bustin on me about how she's gonna smoke me sooo bad, it's gonna be funny. She's got some like aftermarket chrome 17"s ( i think) so that'll probably slow her down a lil bit too.

so what would make you think that a stock engine producing 238 peak hp at the flywheel and 159 ft/lbs torque would come close to beating a car thats probably pushing 250 hp at the wheels and well over 300 ft/lbs of torque... Esspecially when it has worse gearing...

Plus that HP rating is at 8500 rpm... Good luck waiting around while that thing winds up...

if you were stock i would say drivers race with a slight edge going to the mazda because it's newer, but your mods, especially the gears, should put you out front. good luck.
