yeah im gonna be using a stock block. why isnt the forged crank worth it, and what pistons would u recommend that are a higher end piston?
You're looking in the neighborhood of $250-300+ extra for a forged crank with everything else being equal compared to the cast steel version. You'll never break a cast steel crank in a stock block. Spend the money elsewhere.

They aren't a poor quality piston. They are heavy. They are not full floating. I don't think you'll disagree there.
i can agree there - just shocked me for a sec when i thought you were saying they made a poor quality product [&:]

on a side note, have you ever used the Federal Mogul CH Series bearings?

"If you're building a high-level competition engine, you'll definitely want to check out Federal Mogul CH-Series rod bearings. They were developed in the trenches in NASCAR and Pro Stock competition, so you know they're tough. They're built on premium 1020AK steel backings, and overlaid with Federal Mogul's super-duty H-14 alloy. That's covered with a nickel barrier, followed by a thin lead-tin-copper overplate. However, unlike other performance bearings, there is no flash tin layer on top of that. That's because Federal Mogul's engineers have determined that such a layer can actually move around under high performance conditions--sometimes resulting in undesirable consequences."

IMO these are worth the little extra cash..... why cheap out on something so critical? im not gonna lie i beat the crap outta my motor and used it for a couple years as a DD - knock on wood all my parts have yet to let me down
