Default t-5 question

Ok here's the problem. When I shift from first to second it iakes a couple of seconds to engage. All other gears are fine . I'm thinking the syncro. Any other ideas?

What do you mean by engage? When you move the stick it won't go in? If that's the case then yes it will be somethingis wrongin the syncronizer assembly.

Does it go in reverse ok? Ifit doesmy guess would be the syncronizer.

deff. sounds like a syncro, does it grind at all? or is it just like not going back like something is physicaly blocking it, how long have you had the problem and did it gradualy start doing this or was it all of a sudden, how where u driving when u first noticed it? ie. racing, normal DD, cruising like a sain(sp) normal person??? the more details the more accurate i can guess

It grinds a bit. I don't race it actually I baby it. I was working fine and my wife comes home and says "there is somthing wrong with the car" It's a daily driver so I really look after it. I'm guessing my wife missed a shift but she won't admit it.

lol thats with out a doubt a syncro what more than likely happened is she did miss a shift or didn't push the clutch in far enough both are very comon for women drivers (no offence intended) a shop will charge close to 1200$ and it's only 210$ for a GOOD rebuild kit
