i drove mine for months without a tune. although i did adjust the timing a fuel pressure. also i had to put up with surging issues because of the big cam
I'll adjust the timing and FP myself. I'm sure a dyno tune can get quite a bit more hp than i can get out it.. ?

my car has a healty cam some gt40 heads and a paxton s/c all done by myself and i have never got around to getting to the tuner. for the first month after the s/c install i had some problems, i blew the head gasket the first day i got it running but thats my stupid fault for racing the first car that i thought was worthy. ive been driving the car for 3 months with no other major problems. car runs great. i just messed around with the timing and some other stuff. i would say for a hci combo dont sweat it if you can get it to run fine

usually N/A cars don't see much more than 10hp gains on average unless the car arrives in a poor general state of tune..as I said earlier..stock FP, and 14 degrees to start...use the SOTP meter to see what she likes best and save the cash from the dyno. If you have stalling/surging issues a dynotune will correct them...however 400 bucks for 10 hp is not a good trade imo.

Timing light and a 1/2" wrench..loosen the dist bolt and tune the dist while pointing the light at the balancer....the free approach to do the EXACT same thing your diablo chip does for 200 bills . I'll bet you 50 bucks if you pull the diablo chip you have and bump your timing to 14 degrees that you meet or exceed your last dyno numbers...guaranteeed.

Well i'll just get the H pipe on and let her run and she how it goes, after that i'll driver her around nice n easy and see how everything goes there. I'll play with the timing and FP.....If it seems to have some problems with surging / idling i'll take it to the tuner. Thanks for all the input fellas.
