anyways, 825 sounds like alot for a 383...... too much carb?? turn them screws in and lean the crap outta it - see if that clears it up

Hey guys hows it going. I happened to run across this thread during a yahoo search and figured I would sign up and chime in. Yeah I own a prostreet camaro with a 13.5:1 compression 383 stroker with brodix track 1 heads etc etc etc so try not to flame me. I like all american muscle.

The problem sounds like a vacume leak. Have him make sure he has the carb bolted down tight and the intake is tight. If it still does it spray some carb cleaner around the base of the carb and the intake. If the tone of the engine changes any then you have found a leak. The carb is in no way shape or form to big for that engine unless it has a restrictive intake or heads. With my Brodix track 1 heads and victor jr intake I run a 1050 dominator. I gained 1/2 a second going with the dominator over the 750 double pumper I had. The 750 was chokeing the engine out at 5,000 rpm. Now i am able to use my powerband and wing it to 7,500 rpm.

Engine is a fully built 383ci stroker with 0.560 lift and 110 lobe.. 825cfm demon carb with mechanical 2ndary... trying to fine tune in the carb but what keeps happening is the car idles for about 10-15 secs at around 1000rpm, moves up to 1200rpm by itself then just takes a sh*t...

Tried playing round with the fuel regualator but no luck.. We were thinking it was the 255lph fuel pump not wired correctly.. Do u guys have any idea to what this could be?
get rid of that 255 lph thats for fuel injectors
