Default Advice for the newbie

Hey folks. Working on a 93 GT vert and just looking for some advice. Just dropped in a 302 crate with GT-40 heads & cobra intake (also K&N cold air & flowmasters). Other than that the car is mostly stock... AOD tranny, differential, etc, etc. Where am I going to find the most bang for my buck? The engine roars with awesome power between 4-6krpms,but how can I get more take off from a dig? Torque converter? (hard install? daily drivablility?) I've got a B&M shift kit and ratcheting shifter in the mail, but that shouldn't make much of a difference on this issue, right?

Also, headers... suggestion for an easy install, budget header and will it make much of a difference over stock?

Any mods to make on the dif?

THANKS!

3.73 or 4.10 gears?

will a higher converter be rough on daily driving?

Default RE: Advice for the newbie

you have the power, your disadvantaged from gearing in the aod

i say 4.10's w/ a 3000 stall converter + 75 shot of nitrous

you will not believe you have the same car, it will be perfectly streetable , and still knock down decent mileage. you could realistically knock 2 full seconds off your et and run where you should be. i would guess a low to mid 12

most aod guys undergear, and use too low of a stall, it sounds high, but it's not, a fox is relatively light, even your porky 'vert only weighs about 3600 lbs w/ no driver (my lx 'vert was 3450) so it takes a 3000 stall to get about 2700-2800 out of it.

a swap from 3.27 to 3.73 is hardly noticible and will p!ss you off. if you have 3.27's

door tag "ax"code m=2.73, z=3.08, e=3.27

thats my 2 cents anyways, and i have done a few 5.0's
