In 1986 the GT came withthe ofcenter hood painted with a GTlogo was this offered in different colors or only in flat black.

Also what is the different in the vin codes for an 86 GT and LX or LX with 5.0
How can you tell it is a 5.0 gt and not a 5.0 lxnot including decals and body styles?

only the flat black was offered, even on black cars which was almost invisible on them

i am 99% certain if it was a 5.0 car , it was a GT, w/ no bodykit, there would not be a price difference between a 5.0 lx and 5.0 GT, unless it was a notch , which would be obvious.

the engine code in the VIN is the "m" for 5.0 which is the 8th digit , a 4cyl is "s"
