the stock balancers are crap on mustangs. id replae it regardless. flywhell could be out of balance too. you would either have to get a new one or take your old one out and have a machine shop turn it. could be the motor mounts too if theres any way you can put a load on the engine sitting still like trying to take off and hold youre brakes and have somebody else looking at the motor to see if it has to much movement in the mount or just look at them if they have real bad cracks on em theyre probably no good. oh andthose balancers do come apart and will kill your timing cover if you wait to long to fix it!!!! youll have an oil leak to hades!!!! as far as the maf bein the problem i would just really have to feel the vibration toknow for sure. my maf went out andabout 3000 rpm it would run like crap kinda like it was missin. well tahts all i got on the issue

+1 on the harmonic balancer

Mine spun a bit on the seal and scraped up my timing cover a lil, but its still good.

FYI you can take the car to Midas and they will inspect your motor mounts and anything else you request. It's free, how reliable... I dont know depending on the people and location I would guess, but not a bad place to start...

i dont know who advised you to change maf....and what there reasononing is. maf will not cause a vibration, bad harmonic will vibrate i had a bad maf problem it only made the car sputter and run like crap....i had a bad harmonic before and it had the same symptoms as you described good luck!
