Do they always make their underdrive crank pulleys so small that you can't get a socket over the bolt to tighten it?

There's such thing as a thinwall socket? I would think if there is it wouldn't be able to hold up to the 55 ft lbs I torque my crank bolts to.

I've used a lathe or belt sander to grind down an old socket to use for tight fits like this and it worked well. I do not know if it will hold up though having to really tighten down the crank bolts.

can you get some allen head bolts? that should fix ya right up. using a allen socket you should be able to get it more than tight enough... and it'll be trick yo!

yes there is such a thing. they carry them at sears. and yes they will hold up to the 55ft/lbs.i have used them before to put lugbolts on a 911 carreara(sp?) cause there was so little room between the bolt head and wheels. they were torqued to 95ft/lbs.

My Proforms came with allen head bolts because the bolts are so close to the pulley.
