Help Help Help !!!!!
I bought this mustang for a fun car. It is an 89 gt mustang 5.0 It has headers, short shift, cross over pipes. and a few small aftermarket parts. But not long after having the car it began to have issues. I can no longer get they car to start without turning the motor over at alternator. I have replaced the starter and the alternator within the last year. My dad wants to get rid of it but I want to fix it. I have herd all kinds of things that could be causing the car to do this such as the flywheel might be missing teeth. I need a performance starter. Please some one help me solve this problem. I want to show him the car is not junk and to hold on to it for me while I am away at basic.
Thanks,
Anthony

I am just turning the motor over from the front. Sometimes the starter just screams and other times it sounds like metal on metal grinding. If I do it enough times it will catch but when I shut the motor off the car will not star again without me going through that whole process.

remove the starter and have someone turn the motor over by hand at the harmonic balancer with a socket and ratchet while you inspect the flywheel teeth for any damage if they are ground down you will have to replace the flywheel
