first time to the track
i took my 87 lx to the track on opening night friday
ran 15.0's very consistently and few high 14's on street tires (BF goodrich traction TA)
my best time was a 14.766 at 96.7mph
my reaction time was +.78, 60' was 2.159, 1/8th mile was 9.58
I have subframe connectors, BBK upper and lower control arms, kyb gas adjust shocks
CAI, full exhaust, 3.73's, smog and a/c delete with a shorter belt, and underdrive pullies
Just wondering how my times were for what ive got and any tips for improving next time. I was spinning my tires alot on lauch. most of the time when i was launching i would rev up to about 3k and slip the clutch out pretty fast and then when i shifted to 2nd my revs would drop pretty low maybe around 2k. I have an electric fan waiting to put in and id like to bump my timing up a little hopefully those will get me a little better time.

RE: first time to the track
ok... heres the whole run down
avoid the water box
prestage, let other guy prestage
full stage(deep stage if u want to, i do)
dont really try to LAUNCH the car, just try to take off as u would from a red light, but make the transition as fast as possible.
you want to keep it right on that line of where its right before its spinning, its all a feel thing, youll just have to know the car. throw 2nd hard, personally i barley come off of the gas, and some ppl dont come off at all. obv. go full throttle the whole time, and hit 3rd just as hard, but come off the gas a little more, as you may miss 3rd, untill ur good....
do that, and w. ur gear youll prob have to throw 4th aswell...
help any?>

RE: first time to the track
I ran a 13.9 at 100mph with my 87 LX with pretty much the same mods. I think you could be faster if you run your gears out more. I was pretty much at 4800 RPM's in 4th every run.
