Default Starting my car for the first time?

Read my signature to see what I just put on my car. The crate engine isn't new the rest of the parts are. I wanted to know what to do when I first start my car. I have been hearing many diffrent things.

prime the oil pump with a cordless drill through the distributor hole. do this for a good minute, set your distributor and nail the key.

also hand turning the crank slowly a bit here and there will help lube the cylinder walls.

thats what is called a 'fast break in'. u dont need to do that unless you want to rip on the car right away.

bad info right there.

if you have a flat tappet you have to do that to prevent the cam and lifters from killing each other right away.

with a roller, like you have - prime that oil and let er rip. thats all there is to it.

Just go over everything and double check to make sure everything is in place and everything is all secured etc.... Prime the oil pump with a dril and 1/4" bit w/extensions or just use an old dizzy with no gear. Crank her up and watch your gauges closely to make sure nothing bad is happening. And get up a vid of the first start !
