mine is turned off on my chip and i get no cel but i do still get codes saying its not working properly when i run a scan. i have also been getting the same reoccuring code which states EPROM failure but i havent had any adverse affects yet from it.

The simulator causes a code 33 (EGR not opening), the system shuts down EGR function on its own as long as an EGR failure is logged, but the CEL won't come on....that's how the simulator works. The fact that you have an EGR code means its function was not turned off in the chip....when the EGR is "tuned out", no EGR codes should be logged.

The EPROM failure code you have is caused by the presence of the chip.

what all would i need to take the egr off and put a simulator on?
