We pulled the engine out of my 87 mustang yesterday, and when we took the flywheel bolts off, a large amount of oil started pouring out of one of the bolt holes. Now besides my being stupid and forgetting to drain the motor, this doesn't sound right. Why would there be oil coming out of there? The engine was tilted , but I don't know why oil might come out of one of those bolt holes. Does anyone have any prior experience with this?
Oh and when i say a large amount of oil, i mean all the oil in the engine. This is a blown motor so I'm just trying to see if there is a possibility the crank snapped or something. I didn't know that a bad rear main seal would cause all the oil in my engine to come pouring out through a flywheel bolt hole?
