The first tank this newgasI got screwed something up on my '915.0 It's clattering like I havecheap gas, idlesReal bad sometimes. Sometimes even dies when it's cold. I messed with myThrottle PositionSensor which helped a little. My uncle put a 5.0 in his Mercury and said his did the same thing. He changed the MAF sensor and fixed it. Mine stinks bad too, likesomething(O2?) sensor is bad. This happen to anybody else? I can't afford to go replacing everything.

A gas smell could be an exhaust leak and/or the o2 sensors.If they havent been replaced for quite a while id replace them.

If its a rotten eggs smell your cats are junk.

As for the gas, if its got a lot of water in it youll have spitting and sputtering. When was the fuel filter changed last? Try some water remover to see if it helps.

Whats your TPS set at? A reading of .98-.99 should be the minimum. Check for vac leaks. I had a vac leak in the purge line from the upper intake(under the large part)to the charcoal canister. Once fixed it ran fine. I also cleaned the bypass valve and the EGR out with carb cleaner.

coldshot, I have the same problem w/ my 94 right now. Mine runs like crap. It has terrible idle quality and chattering issues at ANY rpm.

Im thinking of ordering an MAF from summit to see if it fixes the problem, if it does...great....if not, I'll send it back and get all my money back.

Let me know if you get the problem fixed and I'll do the same!
