RE: aluminum radiator
i heard they go about 5 years or so really well and then slowly lose their quality from there. but i dunno, never had one. i just figured aluminum is the best way to go, but its all he said she said. i guess my main ? is, is the summit direct replacement dual row aluminum radiator any good or not worth the extra 120 bucks. i read a thread about 5 minutes ago where someone said "be careful on what aluminum radiators you buy, some actually make your car run hotter than stock" thats why i started this post, just curious if summit aluminum radiator any good cause its cheaper than most but not that much more than a stock one.

RE: aluminum radiator
Newsflash. Aluminum dissipates heat better than copper. Normally your tubes are copper or brass, your fins are aluminum, the dissimilar metals is what usually causes corrosion and consequent failure of the tubes. My opinion is that you can pick up a good aluminum radiator (not just a function of better heat transfer but also capacity) for about $299.00 and they do a lod better job at reducing the heat load on an engine. Stock or otherwise, mainly they are used for greater than stock engines but they are a good application no matter what. They do BTW offer stock capacity Aluminum radiators specifically geared towards better heat transfer on stock engines.
