Default Typhoon intake on daily driver?

I'm new to the mustang world, I have a 5.0 convertible that I got in a trade. If I'm wanting to use this car as a weekend cruiser, trips to the mountains, should I put on this Typhoon intake that I got as an extra with the car? If I do put this intake on can I use the stock injectors and throttle body or should I increase those also?

Any help/pointers is appreciated.

i run the typhoon on my daily driver. there is a pic of it in my sig. you can use the stock injectors and tb but if you do, your really choking down the intake. is the motor stock? the heads are the biggest air constriction so untill you change those, dont expect huge gains from the intake

you wont need bigger injectors until you're making a lot more power than just an intake is going to give you, but you might want a 65 or 70mm TB. i think there is a projected HP/injector size guide in the stickies, you might want to check there.

yeah, the motor's completely stock. I'll throw the intake on and purchase a 65mm throttle body and cold air intake. I'm looking for a little pep without killing the fuel mileage.

dont worry about a CAI. just put a drop in k&n and remove the air silencer. good to go. also, dont know if you have it done but look into a full exhaust including headers and maybe some gears. you will be surprised how much it allwill actually wake the car up.

I have the stock headers on but the previous owner removed the cats and H-pipe and installed 40 series Flowmasters. I supposedly have a 3:73 gear but have no way of verifying that.....any suggestions?

ya, jack up one of the rear tires. put the tranny in neutral. spin the tire that is off the ground 1 full rotation. while doing this, count the number of times the driveshaft spins......this is your gear ratio

You're a gotdern genius!

Thanks!

One more question, Do I use stock intake manifold gaskets with the Typhoon intake or do they make some specifically for Typhoon?
