little black canister beside the smog pump
I have a little black canister beside the smog pump that looks like it has something to do with the fuel system. My trbo would hit it so had to remove is that ok or should i just relocate it

thats the canister where the fuel fumes go, it has charcoal in it to absorb the odors and such. mine is unplugged and i havent any problems other than code saying canister purge problem but im not sure if that codes for it or something else.

ya junk that canister and actually there is 2 of them on ur car well mine had 2 one beside smog and there is up like up in the infinder on pass side i ripped both of them out and bout 30 vacum hoses but now car runs lot better now . but when i took them out i smelled gas in 1 of them but now i know why cause answer iceman gave when i took it out i was wondering bout that but now i know

You just can't rip the charcoal canister out. Its not hurting anything having it there. If you insist on taking it out you need to remove and cap off all the vacuum lines that go to it and solinoids the control it. You need to cap off the line coming from the gas tank to the charcoal canister and you need to install a vented gas cap. I believe 85 and earlier foxes used vented gas caps.

hmmm well damn my car dont have vented cap and what u meancap off hose goes to tank like plug it with something but all vacum hoses i jus ripped them all out and jus used ones i needed gotta remember my car is carb not efi . but since me and my cousin did all that car runs so much better now before wouldnt idle for sht but now can start it right up and set there and idle all day
