if it was stock on the car then pretty sure you will be fine. maf will just make it run that much better efficient-wise so the smog people shouldnt say anything about that. you wont need bigger injectors til a ways down the road i run stock injectors on my 320 h.p. GT its a bigger fuel pump but if you needed to you could just buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and you could put down that kind of power on stock injectors.but you wont be making 300 h.p. with only boltons none the less. good luck, dont really hear to many people compliment the 86 front ends, so you are unique

oh and throttle body will only help with throttle response and you will gain minimal h.p. where you stand with your mustang. anything bigger than a 65 mm t.b. and you could start losing power.

Anyways, Since im not going to be changing the cam or heads, will the speed density system still work for me? I was under the assumption that speed density is it better than the mass air flow sensor system. Also, the conversion is most likely illigal in my communist state of california

erik
speed density will work until you change the cam and go too big on duration, it throws the ECU a curve that it can't handle because the vacuum changes are too large.
and speed density ain't illegal in CA, all Stangs built before '88 in CA had speed density and still do unless they were converted to mass air, and converting to mass air ain't illegal either as far as I know. Ford racing performance parts sells a mass air conversion kit for about $500 or so if you do want to convert over to mass air.

you heard wrong, speed density was the only method Ford had for SFI until the '88 CA model cars. in '89, rest of country got mass air and speed density was gone forever as far as Ford is concerned.
