humming....could be a few things, accessory bearings (though they tend to squeek or whine) or possibly the belt rubbing....can you be a little more specific?

I noticed that as I was driving that the temp was going a little crazy. It would get really hot then drop down again & again.

My guess would be bearings as well.

Here's a quick test that might help... remove the accessory belt and start it up to see if you still hear the noise (obviously don't let it run too long.) If you still hear it, you can eliminate and of those pulleys, bearings, etc.

I missed the temperature part. Must have been in a different post I assume?

You should get an electric fan anyway. Another reason I love my SN95.

I think it is the fan clutch because it sounds like it is coming from that area. I would like to get an electric fan but I don't have the time to switch it over. Wouldn't it be faster to just change the fan clutch? I have to have it done within a few hours before it gets dark.

it will be faster to just go to autozone or somethngand pick up a bolt on flex-a-lite fan or something to get you by. but, switching to an electric fan will free up some extra ponies for you.
