oil leak after I shut off car?
just installed new top end. Check signature for parts list.
while the car is running it doesn't seem to be leaking oil ( maybe its burning off on the headers?) but when I shut the car off smoke starts rolling out of my hood. After about 10 minutes of the car being off there is not to much oil under the car (about 15-25 drops) I am thinking its leaking from the valve covers because when I installed them the first time I did it wrong and was leaking horrible. I then took the valve covers off and did it right. I might of damaged the gasket?? I am using a cork gasket should i change to rubber?
(the 15-25 drops is happining after I did the valve cover gasket correct)

RE: oil leak after I shut off car?
never use cork. they crack if you overtighten. this is probably what has happened. the heat and/or pressure from the motor expands the cork a bit, possibly closing the crack enough to seal, but after you shutdown, it begins to cool and shrink, and leak.
