I was wondering the steps on removing the air silencer on a 1989 5.0....

Remove your air box lid, remove the air box and air filter. Now if you look in the hole in the fenderwell you should see a piece of black plastic, that is the air silencer. Remove it by removing the nuts that are holding it onto the fender well (I think that there are four of them and they are all on the engine bay side of the fenderwell). You will have to pull it out through the bottom of the car (it should drop out behind the front bumper.

It's pretty easy to do.

take chainsaw.... aim for intake.... pull trigger and hold on

Shot gun worked better for me. Good old 10 guage will fix it in no time.

why not 4 gauge? you could remove the intake and motor with that

Cuz I own a level action 10 guage, and don't own a 4. Only seen one once, and it was a double barrel handgun, and was called a 4 bore (English made)

DONE... thanks alot.. my fisrt mod completed removed the silencer and added a K+N... now for headers and exaust
