RE: Zex window switch install
Yeah, I am going to take AdderMK2's advice and try to hook it up to the ECU using some shielded core wire to prevent interference. I may try routing it out away from the engine bay first and see if a wire in the engine bay is causing interference. Right now I have it running from the coil down the strut tower brace to the firewall and then through the hole in the firewall up to the switch mounted on my dash. Interference is the only thing I can think of.

RE: Zex window switch install
Ok, I just wired it up without going through the engine bay but still hooked to the negative side of the coil. I also took AdderMK2's advice and I soldered the connection at the coil wire instead of using a tap in connector and as I figured did no good. I have not tapped into pin 4 at the ECU yet, will probably do that tomorrow.
I did however make some video's of what its doing. This first video is with the switch on the 08 tach setting which is what Zex says it should be on for a mustang. 08 means hooked to the coil and has 8 cylinders. Here is that video. Notice how erratic the numbers are. The numbers are suppose to represent RPM x 100. Here is the first video.

Here is the 2nd video. This video is on a tach setting of 50. I did all numbers from 00 to 99 today and 50 seemed to be the best and most accurate yet at high rpm's still is not very accurate. Keep in mind according to Zex this switch only has settings 00 through 12 on the switch yet I am settting it to 50 and it is actually working better. Notice how its not as erratic and at idle actually seems pretty good.

Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

RE: Zex window switch install
I just wired it up to Pin 4 on the ECU and still does not seem to work correctly. It sits at about 100 or 200 rpm's and doesnt move like this. If you rev the motor it briefly jumps up but sits right back down at 100 or 200. I still have not tried the shielded wire because I could not find any. I am still going to do this. Anyone know where I can find some shielded wire?
