Cylinders 7 and 8 fire close together on the non-HO 302s, but not on yours.
Non-HO firing order: 15426378
HO: 13726548

Block:
4 8
3 7
2 6
1 5

Nice use of the phonetic alphabet

have you looked at the rear main seal?

its extremely common on every 5.0 to leak from there sometime in its life

Idles and runs smooth. Blowby seems nil. Anyone heard of the thing about ring sticking or head gaskets buning? There is no smoke, at start up, idling, or under load. Intake gasket? I understand that oil is gonna go out the tail pipes or on the ground. This ain't my first rodeo.

You need to actually do the compression test to know...
Also helpful may be a leakdown test.

I have had motors run well, test fine on the compression test, then show 20% on a leakdown test.
The only reason I had taken the time to do the test was that I had been burning excessive amounts of oil.
The point is that the tests are worth taking the time to do...

PCV could be part of it.
Pull the pcv hose, and see if there is oil in it...
Pull the intake hose off the TB and look inside the intake. Sometimes you can see oil in the intake...

Hi, Are you running full synthetic oil? It sounds like it. If so you went way to early with that crap. I've heard of others that did the same and 500 miles was common to use a quart. If so drain and go back toValvoline etc. Sometimes it's hard to get the rings to seat even after doing this. Now if no synthetic in it then it is going by the rings. Broken or gaps lined up. Sounds like broken with the low mileage. I've got an 07 with more miles than yours. Don't you like to drive Mustangs?

I've never put synthetic oil in it. The car has 104, 500 miles on it. I should have stated that in my original post. I've put 4,500 miles on it since I bought it. And I do enjoy driving it, I put those miles on it in like two months. It was my seconday car too. Thanks.

thats an awful lot of oil to be losing that quickly. i have a similar but smaller problem, cause by my oil pan gasket being blown out a bit. bad pcv system = bad gaskets = oil leaks while running.
