the intake manifold and head can be interchanged. i would deff take that 289 and put it in your car you can make them rev out to 9K like its their job. they are race proven engines what do you think were in the old gt40's back in the day when all 3 of them took 1st 2nd and 3rd over every other car the first year they were out. i have a 289 that im gunna throw into a fox now thats gunna be a fast *** car

take the engine and send it to a shop to get redone. the heads will swap over and same with your intake and carb but your heads are basically the same as the stock heads on that anyway. i believe they are just as cheap to build as a 302 but better the stroke is basically the most perfect stroke out of any v8 block thats why they were race engines

apparently the 289's have nice heads, stick with the 302.

I believe the 1-2-3 finish at LeMans was won using the 427 powered MKII chassis GT40s, not 289s.

Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon - 1st place #1046 MKII
Ken Miles and Denny Hulme - 2nd place - #1015 MKII
Ronnie Bucknam and Dick Hutcherson - 3rd place - #1016 MKII
