you have to replace a lot of the components in the fuel system. the fuel pump is also one of them so dont forget about that. the parts will last for a little bit (definately wouldnt try it myself) but not long.

Be careful running E85 in older vehicles that aren't designed for it. E85 actually has more octane, but will yeild worse MPG and doesn't perform like gasoline. Personally, I don't see it being worth it.

E85 gets you worse gas mileage and great reduces your performance, the only benefit is the cost. I wouldn't waste my time converting.

Yup. You just need to get your engine tuned for it. E85 also eats through rubber so fuel lines, injectors o-rings, etc...will have to be replaced with something synthetic. When E85 becomes available here I plan on converting to it. Why not spend $100 to pollute less?
I have heard that everything the fuel will touch has to be replaced, so if you can do all that for only $100 you would be lucky. If you want to pollute less than you need to git rid of the V8 Mustang and go green. As for me I am old enough to remember the the threats from the 1970's about the coming Ice age and how there would not be enough land to grow the food we need to survive, so I feel I am doing my part to keep the earth warm. It sounds like you are buying into the E85 hype without understanding the cause and effect of using food to run your car. First thing is poor people eat alot of corn so you are now taking their food so you feel good about yourself. Second is that live stock eat alot of corn so the price a the meat you eat will be going up. Third is all the pollution that is produced to grow the corn. There is more than enough oil and fossil fuels to last 100's of years and the threat of running out is only hyped by the fuel company to drive up the cost of their product. If you don't believe me than make a note the next time the price of gas starts going up and they tell you about the shortage, how many gas stations run out of gas. None! Good luck on the switch, but don't think you are really helping anything by doing it.
