Speak up. I bought the MR. Gasket and they are junk, rusted in a couple weeks. I am thinking of going the ford racing route. For now I had them painted when I painted my hood.

ya until it breaks the fiberglass, and your hood goes into the windshield, destroys your cowl, and you crash into oncoming traffic

jrhaden-- i kept the latchpart that you undo from under the dash, that waypeople cant just take out the pins and get into the engine bay. Also those rings are going to rust cause their chrome, i have a goodfix for thatif you want to know
it kind of only applies to the ford racing kit because only the rings rust...... but pull the rings off and clean them up if they're rusted, then with some wire shrink wrap tubing stuff (cant think of thethe actuall name)push it onto the rings, it takes alittle bitand is a pain, then just hit it with a heat gun or lighter and its like a rubber casing.Heat it from end to end so it doesnt wrinkle! It isnt very noticable being black and wont show rust, i honestley think it looks just as good

for sum reason my retard cervinnis hood didnt come with the hole for the hood latch in the right place so it wont latch. All that holds it down is the safety latch and hood pins

You did a good job, pins are recommended with all fiberglass hoods. I dont like suprises.

Where did you get your hood pins and how hard are they to install?

Ford Racing, Not very hard to install-just nerveracking drilling through a $400 hood. Other than that just check your marks and go for it.

They look good but I'm not a fan nor a believer in using them!! If your hood latch is working/adjusted properly, it will never fly up on you. Plus there IS the safety latch as well.
I felt the same way...I was TRUELY sure my hood was secure and pins were not in my future...until....third gear midway through the tach I saw it start to lift...yup caught on the safety latch and did quite a number on the retaining plate. Though the safetly latch did it's job I now run pins with glass hoods, fact is they flex at speed and can and do get away from the leaver. A nice plus is they are nifty to unpin when someone wants to see the goodies
