Default suspension question

I got some new kyb struts and i was about 2 put them on but i can push them down with my hand that doesnt seem right 2 me should i be able 2 do this i mean these are brand new out of the box

They are gas filled and don't collapse easily.

kyb's are a little on the soft side to start with
think if you pump them up and down a couple times they will get better , those are real close to factory ones for softness
not saying they won't last good or anything as i put 100 k on a set of them on my mark 7
