i am about to buy a 89 gt and he said it needs a pinion gear and its not street drivable becasue it wobbles and if it breaks it will lock up? is this true or is he feeding me a line of bs?

If it wobbles then I wouldn't drive it. The bearing is obvously shot and has probably pitted up the shaft of the pinion gear. I wouldn't drive a car with that problem. If it did snap it could destroy your whole rear end. Also why would somebody selling you a car lie about that?

if u take the car tell them thx for being honest most people are like oh well it not me buying it sucker i hate people like that ive had it happen went and test drove a mustang and put it in first and it had no first or second it was complete detroyed the trany and clutch and the guy tells me there was nothing wrong and i could drive it home and he let me test drive it was he stupid lol. good luck

well i didnt know anything about differentials. what gears do you recommend 3.73 or 4.10s? i can at least drive it up on a trailer.
