Default IAC

my car is it hanging aroung 1500 rpm's (for 10-30 secs. ) when i let off the gas ....i have cleaned the the throttle body, IAC and TPS .....and the cable springs beneath the throttle body
....i dont have this problem if i unplug the IAC...it seems to run better and more responsive..
...are these signs of a bad IAC?
...whats wrong with leaving its unpluged?

It's most likely an IAC issue. Have you tried cleaning your MAF sensor also? I have found that when my MAF gets dirty it creates all sorts of wierd running issues. Once I spray it down with some carb cleaner all of my issues go away and it runs like a champ! Also check your PM's.

You won't have idle control....you should make sure you don't have any failure codes in the system that could be causing the hanging idle problem ...... http://www.troublecodes.net/Ford/ a KOEO and KOER self-test will provide you with the initial info to ID the cause.

first take your IAC off and clean it, then if that doesnt help try sending Streetracer911 a message or look for his thread on a block off plat.

I agree with scanning the computer, see what realy the problem is for sure, I mean at least you wont be guessing. Leaving the IAC wont hurt nothing, just the the TB slamd shut, engine might stall/die, and when you stopped you might have problems.
Hell, Adder did that for a while, dont think it was too big of a problems for him.

I had the same problem...I tell you what fixed it..it may sound stupid, but I got thinking how other peoples car would stall when you unplug the IAC, mine didn't, so I unplugged my IAC, turned down the idle screw till it stalled. Then Iplugged it back in and checked to see if it would idle, unplugged it to see if it would stall then resetTPS. That fixed it,I had my idle settoo high.
