RE: trak lock rebuild
i agree that if he's not comfortable doing it then to let someone else to do it... i was just saying that it's not gunna be cheap, as for a better plan i would have your mechanic friend do it for you, BUT when he does it stay and watch that way you get an understanding of how things work...
you prolly won't be able to do it yourself the next time but at bare min. you understand whats going on inside there, i donno about you but i'm the kinda guy that wants to know exactly how everything works and y thing do what they do

RE: trak lock rebuild
that just the rebuild the traclok tho right, not to remove it and to reinstall it? and that MIGHT include parts, i mean it's 50$ just for the parts to rebuild it

RE: trak lock rebuild
it really all depends on your aplication for some rebuilding will be perfectly fine but others may need an auburn or some sort of locker. but then again not everyone can afford a 400-500$ lsd

RE: trak lock rebuild
umm lets see roughly 200 to rebuild or roughly 500 for an auburn? hmmm, tough choice, and yes 88 the LABOR price will vary from shop to shop, but the parts price will be pretty close, and like i said the $75 is just to rebuild the trac-lok (at most shops) i called and asked about 5 of the local ones about 20 min. ago
