weierd idle

my buddie has a 90 lx he just match ported his stock heads and put on rollor rockers he put it back toghter last night and it runs awsome off idle but when you let it idle down sometimes it stalls but it wont idle above 500 you can turn the screw up so it is at 1000 but then it kicks it back down to 500 any ideas

Reset the tps after you mess with the the Idle screw?

Also sounds like there may be a vacuum leak.
