damn thats how much a sh*tty fox is around here
ORIGINAL: nmerrill

4500, why dont you just buy a fox with an already built motor and tranny that runs and drives? You can find a great running fox, fairly stok, or fairly modded for 4500. Then just upgrade it as you like. If you are dead set on "restoring one" i would definately shop around a little bit more for engines. Maybe talk to your local machine shop
****z man around here a bone stock mustang goes for that price.... here in the bay area they are way over priced!!

everyone hates on carbs.. anywho if your not in cali andif your ona tight budget i would go for a carb cheaper to build then efi and close to the same performance.
I dont hate on carbs, Im just alittle OCD and if the car came with EFI I want it to remain that way plus I like everything to be able to pass inspection. But if I had the money I would definately find a 85 orolder notch and do a 408w, it would kick some serious tail

best year might be 89. 140 mph speedometer, mass air, no airbag (less weight) i've heard the 86's had the worst heads for performance-e6 ftl.

True but if you are planning on swapping the engine and upgrading the MAF it doesnt really matter, the other crap is personal preference really

and a 408 stroker from a 351 was what i was talking about, can you get 514 out of a 351? I mean like would it even be reliable
