Default Plugging the smog pipe

I wanted to find out while my smog pump is on my car, should I plug the hose coming out of the pump or is it better to just put a bolt in the back of the head. btw, should I plug the two smaller vacuum hoses coming off the smog piping when I take it all off. Ever since I plugged the hose that comes off the smog pump I have this stupid popping noise and I am pretty sure it is the smog pump. Thanks in advance

i plugged the tube that goes to the exhaust by putting a nickel over it and welding it in solid on my father in laws gt and the next day it froze up and slung the belt. i would just get a delete kit and be done with it.

you will need the delete kit and you can still use the stock belt. if you go with the shorter belt with out the delete its prolly gonna rub between the idler pulley and the water pump.

You can just run a shorter belt. I have been doing that for over 2 years now. As for plugging the heads or tube; I plugged the tube with a 5/8 or 3/4 screw from Home Depot. (Thats been there for two years without a problem.)

You must have plugged the tube before the pump, correct, how much are the smog pump delete kits costing these days.

yea i dont think its worth it unless u have to have it... plug you heads mid pipe and vacuum lines... might as well do the EGR will you at it... that is just a stainless steel or aluminum piece of metal cut to get and screw it down... along with capping you header
