Default Stock Valve Covers and a Cam

Alright guys I did 50% of my cam swap tonight. I'm putting everything back together and I'm wondering if onceI adjust the rockers if there going to touch the valve cover from the extra lift. The cam has .512 lift with my 1.6 rockers. Anything to worry about? It would be a good excuse for me to order a set of trickflow valve covers but right now I'd rather put the money else where.

I've got .499/.510 lift and my stock valve covers are fine.

Do you have stock rockers or did you upgrade to rollers rockers? I was going to leave the stock ones for now since I hope to get rid of these stock heads really soon. Within a month or 2.

If nothing else just put em on and turn the engine over by the crank bolt a few times. You'd hear it. You have upgraded valvesprings?

You should be fine with the 1.6RR's, I beleive that the stock (stamped) rocker arms are 1.6:1 also. If you were running 1.7:1 rocker arms you'll run into problems with the stock valve covers.

I'm just swapping the cam right now. I'm hoping to get a set of heads in the near future. The cam is pretty mild, .512/.512 lift and 218/224 duration at .050. Its power band is only good till 5400 or so and I don't plan on going past 5200.
