The lower is the real restirction in the stock intake. The upper is capable of flowing much more.... Enlarge and straighten the runners w/ your Dremel. On the heads, put your gasket up to the intake side and use a marker to color the difference in area between the gasket and actual runneropening; that's what you want to port.

I ported my E7's and a GT40 intake I sold on ebay (bought a Street Heat). Also, check out Tom Moss's site for great advice and walkthroughs.....
