i just got my rebuilt motor in and started it up 3 diffrent times last night to check for leaks and stuff, so tonight went out to start it and it started but the starter was dragging so i was going to mess with the timing but had to turn the car off, so when i tried to start it back up it would do nothing but click everytime i turn the key i get 1 click at the solenoid on the fender so i took the starter off and tried it with jumper cableshooked to it straight from the battery and it would turn but it was pretty slow. what do you think could be the problem i'm really wanting to get this car going but so much is going wrong.

has this car been sitting long at all? all it could need is a good charge

the car has been down about 3 weeks and i don't believe its the battery because we hooked jumper cables to it from another car and also put a diffrent battery in and it still would only click.

this happend to my boy a few nights ago we gave the car a jump and still no response so i swiched my bat into his and the car started up just fine....also check if its your coil oryour Ignition control module

Does sound like a dead batterly or it could be a bad ground or hot wire

its not the battery because i tried another one, what should i check between the solenoid and the starter it has to be that or the starter.
