Default question bout rear end

pwer braked it little earlier and left rear wheel hopped and right wheel broke lose i let off of it and tryed again and same . what chances of something being broke in there . or maybe have splines stripped out on left axle . just wondering and if it is axle does any one know what axles my car has in them its stock 85 gt 5 speed vert. ok thanks ...

could be the rear. the 85's still used the wimpy 7.5 inch rear versus the 86 and up 8.8 inch rear. i would look at youre quad shocks and youre control arms and there bushings.. more then likely you have a bad quad shock on that side or a bad upper or lower control arm bushing.

so thats probly why i cant hook for shi# when i jam on it in 1st. they just ignite....my suspension is junk

hmmmmm ok ill check it out. so would i be better off to find different rear end like one out of 86 or or newer and would they bolt up jus the same,

yep, 86-93 will bolt right in. if you can find one from a turbo coupe bird of a svo stang then it will bolt right in too and have disk brakes in the rear. but the wheel hop is most likely caused by the quad shock or the control arm bushings. if you replace the control arms with some aftermarket ones then you can ditch the quad shocks cause the better control arms will stop the wheel hop.

if you plan on modding youre car much more then exhaust and intake.. then yes. i would deffanitly look for an 8.8.

7.5's are not as weak as you guys think. You dont need to do a rear swap just because youwant to add a manifold do your car.

no he doesnt.. but if nitrous or a H/C/I or a superchager or a turbo is in his mind for the future.. then it might be wise to swap now. JMO though.

nos hell no . lol prob blow motor to fast with that . super charger or turbo can you put those on a carb engine ? and my pockets say no deal on either of those right now . but h/c/i yes like to do 1 of those soon .
