This is something I haven't had to do before because as I said before, I have the AODE. I use my Laptop computer to change my shift points. Your tranny shift points are mechanical so it's not as easy. I think you may have to take it somewhere to have them make the adjustments in teh valvebody but I cant say for sure. I 'm not sure messing with the TV cable will make a big enough difference if it's really that bad.

Lemme look into it for ya.

Could be the TV cable is out of adjustment. This will change the shiftpoints and "kickdown" characteristics of the tranny also. If you don't have it set at the proper pressure, it will damage the tranny.

Would the TV cable make it that extreme though? I've heard of minor changes in shift points but nothing that drastic. And with the increase in the shift points, they usualyl ahve a change in shift firmness as well if it's the TV cable. But again, I'm an AODE guy so this is a bit out of my league.

I just thought I'd throw that out there because it's easy for him to check and rule out as a problem. His case does sound a little extreme though. If you want to check it, I need to know the year of the car and the year of the tranny, so I can tell you how to do it.

The transmission is in a 1995 mustang GT, the transmission is listed as a 1993 AOD.

No, the TV cable setting/pressure can only be done after the tranny is in the car. This cable is attached to the throttle body at one end and to the tranny at the other end. The adjustment is made at the T/B and depending on the year, you might need a pressure gauge to do it properly.

Good God, why would you put a piece of crap AOD into a 95 GT when those had the stronger AODE in it? All you would have to do is slap an AODE back in and you could change both the shift points and the pressure through the computer.
