Say what you want about I-R-I-D-I-U-M plugs but there NOT junk!!! I don't put JUNK on my mustang.[:@] It may be a waste of money for YOU but it's definetly not for me. My 5.0 only gets the best parts(in my opinion)that are out there. Don't get me wrong you may not think too highly of the "special" plugs but basically what it sounds like your saying is that anyones mustang that has platinum or iridium plugs are junk. Besides I wasn't telling him to go out and buy them ,I was just putting my $.02 worth in
Thanks for the laugh...and spending more than $20 on spark plugs is sofa king retarded

I have no idea how much you paid nor do I care. All I said was spending more than $20 on plugs is retarded and if you have platinum or iridium plugs you cant even get three for that price where as I can get 8 autolites for my car for $16 and they still lite over 300rwhp with no problem. Reading > you

autolites at partsource or napa..they work best, last forever and cost 2 bucks each. There is no power to be made with iradium plugs.

Well I guess I'll be keeping any thoughts I have about different topics on this forum to myself--that way I don't offend or ridiculeanyone and it doesn't give anyone else the chance to offend or ridicule me. Crocop I'm sorry I hijacked your thread--it was unintentional. Don't listen to any of my ideas-- I'm a fa king retarded idiot!

bluedemon dont take it to hard. every car is made differently there not all the same. different materials may work better then others. i got a few friends that work in auto part stores and i got get a dam good discount if i were to pick op some iridiums. thing is i dont have any major performance parts, so right now i personally don t see the need for them. im trying to fix up a mis fire that i got so i just want to get the basic materials for the ignition to try and find the problem. hopefully my stang isnt going to mysticaly be a junky for expensive plugs and wires.

My intention was not to insult you...my statement was based on experience with combinations of engine components (including different plugs while testing) and time on the dyno. Cutting back the strap on a plug and indexing will net you SOME power but it is minimal for the work and added expense. Statement of a plug is a plug is too general but I've seen first hand platnum plugs cause idle issues and slight miss on some cars (they were high milers) and iradium plugs net zero gains on the rollers. Should also note while here I've tried gap variations on the autolite plugs...from .035-.054 gap with stock ignition and was rewarded with no gain again.

I personally run an autolite race plug (AR3924) with a cut back strap(refered to as aside gapped plug)from the manufaturer and have then indexed (significant pain in the butt andhad to purchase 4 sets of plugs to find 8 that would orientate the strap in the idential position in the combustion chamber...luckily I was able to return the unused plugs)the plugs. The results for my effort was 7hp and simular torque for 2 hours worth of work and 5 dollars a plug. You should know however that a side gap plug has significantly less life than a standard plug...and you're not going to FEEL any difference in performance...5hp is not a noticable difference but I was pushing for MAX dyno numbers from my setup and this process was on my list of 'things to try'.

ya well im 21 but look like im younger and i know people who are 18 19 and know more then a 40yr old, but i guess some people just automatically think if your young you dont know anything. NGK's are fine, just pick them up instead of driving all over the place looking for a certain brand.
