is the only downside turning sharply? does it really improve the takeoff off the line better then say a locker?

A spool isnice.....if you want a nice locker then go with a Detriot True-Trac locker. I have one and it is bad ***.Lucky has one sitting in his garage.....he is just too lazy to install it.

Speaking from personal experience, I wouldn't use a spool in a street driven car. Thier hard enough to manuver around at the track let alone on the street.
