Cant Keep 91 Mustang Started
I got a question. I just got back off a 6 month deployment from South America and i got in my car to start it and it wont stay started. My wife said that she started it every other day when i was gone and it didnt start acting up untill like a month from me gettin back. The car doesnt have a problem trying to start it just seems like it doesnt want to stay started. I just changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, IAC valve, and the fuel pressure regulator valve. Sometimes the car will crank but then it seems like it doesnt have any gas... and yes it does have gas in it. I drained the tank when i changed the fuel pump and filter. Also i can kind of pump the gas pedal and it tries to crank and it might idel for a few seconds and then tries to shut of. I have done everthing that I know to do. If anyone out there has had a problem like this please help. THANKS

RE: Cant Keep 91 Mustang Started
+1 what adder said.
When a car wont start the computer has already put gas in there
so when you stomp on gas while starting the computer figures something is
wrong and car has been turning over too long and might be flooded.
So instead of giving it gas when you step on pedal it cuts gas off.
It starting after that says its getting flooded out for some reason.
The IAC valve also gets a signal from computer to go full open at start-up
too, If its not getting the signal car will die right after starting.
Also it is common for baffles to break lose in tank and cause weird fuel feed problems
as they move around in there.
Try pulling the codes, That will help lots.
