neither will give you a big difference, your best bet is to get a set of gt40's from an explorer along with a cam and intake

i know the f-150's timing is bout 10* retarted..i want to bring it to 0* but im 18 and its a little bit of a bigger job than i would like to tackle..that would probably get me some power..and i dont want to dish out 2 grand for some heads

well first i have to ask, since its a truck do u want the power to tow, or the power to just go fast. cause if u want to tow than the stock heads are pretty good for the low end, and a nice 4x4 cam from crane or comp will give more a very stout low end. if u want speed than find some used aluminum heads, trick flow or eddy, maybe afr, than find a decent cam from comp cams or trick flow has cheap ones.

the stock 5.0 HO cam lift is .444" intake and .444" exhaust. i have a cam that i'd like to get rid of for real cheap that has .445" intake and like .470ish" exhaust which is a bit more torquey. its a lunati cam. not sure if your block is a roller block though.

*edit* i'll get you the numbers from the cam if you'd like

im sure some people on here kno but and that would b the easiest way cuz im tired and dont really wanna explain. but i do kno that if its not, and i dont think it is, a HO then there are a few things that u'll have to change so it may be more of a pain then anything. but like i said u'll have to hear from one of the other guys right now to be certain

i know alot of the trucks were still flat tappet (the E7 block from a truck im using for my 289 build didnt have rollers in it). the only way you'll know for sure is to pull the intake. maybe you could go to autozone and look up a replacement lifter for your year and model and they can tell you if its a roller or not?!?!?!

either way im pretty sure i'd be the 1-5 firing order not 1-3, so you have to stick with that order or it will screw your fuel injection up.
